The Williams by Bachmann ALCO RS-3 Diesel Locomotive is decorated for Rock Island #492 and is designed for O Scale (1:48) three-rail operation. Introduced in 1950, the ALCO RS-3 was an all-purpose 1,600-horsepower diesel locomotive designed for freight, passenger, and yard service. This Williams by Bachmann model features True Blast® Plus 16-bit polyphonic sound, including prime mover, horn, and bell, along with dual motors with flywheel coasting action, traction tires, directional LED lighting, and an electronic 6-amp reverse board with directional lockout.
Additional factory-installed features include a durable ABS plastic shell, wire-formed handrails, separately applied grabirons, drop-down steps, and windshield wipers. The locomotive is designed to navigate O-31 curves and measures 14.5 inches in length and 4.25 inches in height.
