The Bachmann EMD SD40-2 CSX #8013 is a highly detailed HO Scale (1:87) diesel locomotive decorated in the modern CSX YN3 (HTM™) paint scheme. Based on one of EMD's most successful six-axle freight locomotives, the SD40-2 was produced between 1972 and 1989 and remains a mainstay on freight railroads across North America.
This model comes factory-equipped with SoundTraxx® Sound Value DCC and sound, providing realistic locomotive sounds along with digital control of speed, direction, and lighting. It features a precision can motor, all-wheel drive, dual precision-balanced flywheels, die-cast chassis, operating headlights, fine-scale handrails, blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours, and E-Z Mate® Mark II magnetic knuckle couplers. Designed for dependable operation and authentic appearance, it performs best on layouts with 18-inch radius curves or larger.
