The Bachmann EMD SD40-2 Canadian National #6023 faithfully reproduces one of EMD's most successful six-axle road locomotives in HO Scale (1:87). The prototype SD40-2 was produced between 1972 and 1989 and became one of the most widely used freight locomotives in North America, powered by a 3,000-horsepower EMD 16-645-E3 prime mover. This model is DCC Ready with a factory-installed 8-pin socket for the decoder of your choice and features all-wheel drive, a precision motor, die-cast frame, separately applied handrails and horn details, detailed trucks, and E-Z Mate® Mark II magnetic couplers. Designed for reliable performance, it operates best on 18-inch radius curves or greater.
